Topspin
In table tennis, topspin occurs when the top of the ball is going in the same direction as the ball is moving, and the bottom of the ball is moving in the opposite direction to the motion of the ball.
Topspin causes the ball to drop faster than by gravity alone, and is used by players to allow the ball to be hit harder but still land on the table. When extreme topspin is put on the ball, the shot is called a loop.
